Hello...!

Postby adster » Mon 14.10.2013, 18:17

Hello everyone,
A couple of weeks ago i purchased my first Lotus Elan, after looking at a few cars for sale i finally opted for the one i now have.
Its a 1990 one in red, needs a few bits and pieces sorting but its a generally tidy car! well im pleased with it so far!
Just need to take it for a mot and fingers crossed i'll be on the road in it...
I've always been into classic minis but just fancied something a little different, just hope i enjoy owning it as much as i like my minis!
So far i have changed the stereo system, new head unit and 4 new speakers as the old ones had slightly deterioated...fitted a new window motor and regulator as the old one was knackered.
Next on the list is to sort out a blow in the exhaust and eventually fit a stainless system and a front wheel bearing thats a little worn.
I'm sure i'll be asking lots of questions as i work my way through the car, but hopefully it will be a gvood little runner and not give me too many problems?

Congratulations on your Elan acquisition and welcome to LEC! Those are impressive fixes for just two weeks into ownership :smt023 (coming from someone who can spend well over two weeks just contemplating a fix  )

I'm in Southend in essex, anyone else local to me?
I'm pretty happy to give most mechanical things a go, been cleaning the rear lower arms up today! They are looking nice and solid, which is a relief!

Welcome.
If you add your location to your profile, it appears below your avatar. Saves you from having to mention it each time.

Steve A is somewhere in mid-south Essex.
Landsledj is in Brentwood
Gazza is in Romford & I believe Paul69 is not too far away from there.
Look out for a meet at the Hare in Roxwell, Chelmsford.
