Hi all you Lotus Elan experts. I am a new member from SW England keen to buy a tidy Elan that I don’t have to spend more time underneath than actually driving ! (Like my previous experience 30+ years ago with a elan +2!) Yes, I know: Sad Old Git trying to relive his youth – guilty as charged!
I don’t really mind if it’s a S1 or S2, but if S1,I would prefer one with wishbones replaced with the galvanised ones and a recent brake re-furb / upgrade and if S2 the cat in good nick or replaced. Ideally under 70K miles, yellow or red(unfaded), with the hood & seals in very good order.
I hope this is not being unrealistic but I’d pay good money for the right car.
I’m planning to go see No. 736, being advertised in Harrogate but it’s a long way from down here. Does anyone know anything about this car?
