- S1 with S2 wheels and loud exhaust!
I've had a few Lotus cars including a 1970 Europa and a 1989 Excel and currently own two Esprits and and my wife owns a S1 Elise.
The current cars are all in really great shape, so much so that they don't get used that often
So, I heard about an Elan for sale which was mechanically very very good but looked a bit unloved on account of its mileage.
I bought it so that I could use it as a daily driver and not have to worry about leaving it in Tesco's car park.
Picked it up Saturday night - wow what an amazing car. It really pulls until c5k revs and then goes bonkers fast to the red line. What a great car. So underrated. Bought for peanuts so if it goes wrong it really doesn't matter but I already know I'm going to enjoy owning this little thing.
