HIBUTK has a new home

[HIBUTK]

HIBUTK (Honey, I Blew Up the Kid!) M100 Elan as driven in the Disney 1992 movie has moved on to a new owner after 15 years with Mikek. I felt I had developed it the most I could with my skills and the new owner had a Lotus 23 Recreation (unused race car) for sale. A partial trade was made in August of 2019. The new owner is in Melbourne, FL and I'll let him post when he feels inclined. I appreciated all the efforts of Elan Central members to share their knowledge and I used it many times to keep HIBUTK in great shape. I took a number of trips to Lotus Ltds. Lotus Owners Gatherings and won awards with HIBUTK for the Concours and autocross competitions. Having had 5 M100s through the last 20 years, I also had a few spare parts that went with it. So HIBUTK should be around for a long time to come. Keep M100s on the Road & Track! And THANKS for all the volunteered knowledge.

Good by Mike enjoy life. Just for the record I beat you on the drag strip and was second at most of those events.

Yes Steve, it Was Fun! For some reason I had trouble exceeding the 200hp climb on my own. I did see 202.8 hp once on Elanscan with a 3 bar map sensor. If you still have your racing license, I'll be at Virginia International Raceway in early April with Vintage Drivers Club of America. I am their Chief of Tech and will be racing the Lotus 23 Recreation I obtained in the trade for HIBUTK. Have raced the L23 for 1 1/2 weekends so far. Need some Hewland Mk 5 parts now!
