Hi everyone, I am a new LEC member based in Nova Scotia Canada. Am interested in acquiring an M100 and feel it is important to touch base with the owners forums.

Being in Canada, the M100 is few and far between (not that there is a plethora of them in the US either). As I start my search, I check out the various internet sites (eBay, Hemmings, Craigslist, Kijiji, etc.) to see what I can find. Surprisingly (to me) I found three, tho one ended up selling. I saw one offered on eBay through Gateway Motors - Houston and the other through Cardone and Daughter - Connecticut. These are nice to look at as it is refreshing to know that there are some for sale.

My big reason for coming here tho is to seek input to # 1 the main issues with the M100 and # 2 whether a 'buying guide' has been made available [I thought Car and Classic might have had one at one time].

Anyhow, that is my intro and look forward to contacting with some of you. And would love to know of other cars out there.

I currently have a SaaB 900S in the garage and formerly owned Triumph GT6s and Porsche 911SC so am used to some 'less than common' cars.

Welcome John,
There is a buyer's guide in the wiki, it's a little dated but still pretty accurate. 30 years on some parts are difficult /expensive so check availability beforehand.

I just looked at the buyer's guide from 2008 and although it has a list of common replacement parts, the prices have not stood up over the years.

With a lot of original parts having gone obsolete, there are some that are modern replacements that are more expensive since they are being made in smaller quantities and usually with much better materials.

If you "find" a car that you are interested in, post a message with a link to the details and maybe an idea as to what you see as will be needed to maintain the car.

You will receive a lot of suggestions as to how you can resolve most common issues. Most 29 year old cars will need some work to keep it safe and roadworthy.

You might even get a reply from someone that "knows" the car and they can usually tell you the good and bad that they have seen.
