Thanks for the info. :D

I investigated the classic9leather shop product although it looks excellent its the shipment and taxes that are prohibitive. It works out approx £150 + taxes and its not as per original spec as I believe it is not foil lined. The other product has the silver foil facing the engine the original spec has the foil against the bonnet with the adhesive on the foil as per the specially produced product i have sourced. He is specially producing it for Elan owners on the product number posted on this thread after I informed him the original spec was no longer available. The cost was £56 in total but £20+vat of the cost was shipping so if you live in or near Leicetershire its a total bargain if you can pick up. :D :D :D

New under bonnet sound deadening cut to shape.

I sourced specially produced to original specification sound deadening as discussed on a separate thread.

New sound deadening fitted at last. I removed the foam from the wings that go under the bonnet hinges exposing the reinforced foil as per the original spec

I am very pleased with the result :D

Well everyone its been a long haul but JIMBOB's Elan (JUFs) is very nearly finished.

I still have a few small jobs to attend to:

Fitting front wheel arch liners.
Fitting Front door carpets (I am going to find a better way other than gluing them to the door card)
Bleed the brakes.
Sort slight misfire (Fingers crossed I hope is just a coil pack)

Then off for a full 4 wheel alignment and MOT. :D :D :D

When its totally finished I will post some better photos but in the mean time here are a few.
