On the subject of gearchanging, whatever happened to the short-shifter trials that were going on? - can't find the thread on here; if the mods work it woud be a big improvement; don't think sequential is an option for most of us.

Not an option for me either, the price tag ranges from 5 to 9 thousand Euros...

If I ever get my friggin' car on the road, I'll be able to test the mods I've made! I've got 15 sets of hardened shifter mounts made - just need the finished lever extensions to go with them.

Very few things can change my mood for the better, one of them is anything that has to do with Lotus of course. But something else that cheers me up, is AC/DC music. I grew up with their songs and always enjoy listening their music especially while driving, it really helps to cast away all the bad thoughs outta my head. I remember long ago we voted at another Car-Forum for whats the best song to push you drive faster, and AC/DC*Thunderstruck won with ease.

So here it is...

Sh4rk's Video Tribute to AC/DC

http://www.sh4rk.gr/ACDC.wmv

9MB of size

Enjoy!

Costas

PS. I apologize for the poor quality but the original size is 500MB (DVD quality) and I had to shrink it that much to make it uploadable to my rented Webspace.

Its one year since this thread started, quite optimistic seemed at post #1 yet we managed to acomplish even more of what planned. Now, almost 600 replies, 20.000 views (including old LEC) and 400+hp later, this thread has reached a point that it should end.

Myself and Greg of DSP have been through many thoughts and lots of discussions of upgrading even more on Sh4rk 2 which would commence on April. Installing a Mitsubishi Evo engine, searching for Compressor Turbo alternatives to minimize lag, Quaife Sequential gearbox, was among our top strories.

But unfortunatelly I lost any inspiration, desire or joy for doing anything more. The reason for this is that 5 months ago I lost my beloved Mother and this weekend I lost my beloved Father, not a great year for me.... Both my parents were always worried about my madness about driving, I feel that as a minimal tribute to them to stop doing so. So at this particular sad period I am under serious thoughts of selling Sh4rk....

Anyways, Sh4rk thread is over, thank you ALL very much for helping me and inspiring me getting it done.

Costas,

Sorry for your losses. I have also lost loved ones in the last year and a half since joining LEC. My mother, my father, my mother-in-law, my dog, and my cat (yes animals but part of the family) have all passed.

Life goes on, and yes I have found that my Elan is not so important, and that's why my project has become less intense and has taken on a more realistic goal. It really doesn't matter if you keep your Elan or not, what matters is that you find peace and strength within yourself.

I'm keeping my car and will continue to work and improve it at my own pace, and at the same time enjoy life and what it brings my way. I have been blessed because of my family, my job. and all the cars I have been privileged to own and drive over the years.

Do what's right for you Costas, and remember we won't forget the SH4RK even if you decide to sell it.

Sad to hear the loss of your Father, it's been a tough year for you and your family. You probably need to allow yourself some time before making any major decisions...

Hi Costas,

This is indeed a sad year for you and your words brought a tear to my eye, I am truly sorry for your loss.

Your feelings are understandable but I'm sure it wouldn't have escaped your mum and dad's notice how much joy you get out of your car. We have certainly noticed it all the way from Greece on this forum!!!

Time for refection I guess and getting what you hold dear into perspective.

Take care, Chris

Truly sorry to hear of your loss Costas. However I'm sure when the pain subsides you will agree with chris.t

I'm sure their concern was only for your safety! Whatever you decide I look forward to meeting you some day - Shark or not.

Well put Russ, Chris and others.

Whatever you decide to do, Costas- my condolences, my understanding, my well wishes and my thanks go with you.

Recently I had looked back at the first page of this thread and could not believe the transformation that took place. So many changes in the Sh4rk and in your life.

There are many in this forum willing to help you in the future as partial repayment for all you have given us.

All the best-

Well put, Russ. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Costas. So sorry to read of this after just getting back to the forum after a bit. I hope you and all other family members find peace in what is a difficult time.

As for the car, do what is right for you. I have bounced in and out of my project this past year and found it at times painful to be away but life was so busy, I just had to (the past few weeks being a perfect example with work). I still feel it in my gut to get back at it, but I understand when the inspiration isn't there, the car can be a distraction rather than a joy. We'll always be here if it takes you days, weeks, months, or years to come back to the Elan. And we'll miss you if you don't return. Either way, as with all members, we want what's best for you. Good luck to you!
