Its as good a place as any :)

bought from the uk in June 2010, where it had a service, new rear calipers, cam belt and waterpump.

the cat collapsed enroute to switzerland so I had it hollowed out

wastegate wiggle done

re-fitted the stereo as it was wired up live all the time

replaced all the interior bulbs

cleaned the engine

tided up the dash / instrument cluster - filled the gaps with black silicon sealent to stop the rattles and look a whole lot better.

retrimed the windscreen a panels in fake black leather.

July 2010 car was reversed into :( bumper damaged, been profesionally repaired (cost 3000chf!!) also getting them to repair some cracking on the drivers door at the same time.

Jobs to do

Fit door speakers

re-spray the seats - someone has already tried to re-colour them from blue to cream, but looks like they used a non-spray method so the colouring is uneven, and not very good. I have a proper re-colour kit and have re-coloured grey to cream before.

polish engine and sort out lots of rusty bolts!!

brake upgrade

here's the seats I did before

from a 96 rover 220 coupe, leather was in a bad way, lots of cracks and one hole in the bolster, here's the kit

you have to strip the old layer of colour off with thinners first, then rub the colour in, then spray some top coats on and finally sealer. more time you take better the result. really pleased with the results. Anyway the seats in the elan look pretty poor at the moment as the blue wasn't evenly covered, so they always look dirty.
