Replacing fuel injectors - update to Dave M's write-up.
Dave,
Great write up except I fould a couple things that should be corrected if your going to do this. No show stoppers that's for sure.
1) Use a 10mm socket not a 12mm to remove the elecrical connections rail.
2) Slide the clips right to left (not left to right) that secure the injectors to the rail.
3) Don't buy that elusive T26 torx wrench! The correct size is a T30. You may look for a very long time trying to locate a T26. Not sure if they even make them.
4) Not part of the original write-up but make sure the rectangular o-rings inside the electrical connectors didn't fall out. One of mine did but I saw it before installing again.
Seperate subject:
Coil replacement using MSD, stock, or Accel coils.
I took my small metric sockets out to remove the 4 bolts. 5mm was too small
and the 6mm was too big.
Go figure! They don't make a 5.5mm socket so I started digging through all my old inch sockets. What should I find but a 7/32" socket (5.55mm). It worked perfectly!
Maybe they did this for us Federal guys so we could still use our old tools.
