Having recently been the beneficiary of generosity (surplus parts) on this Forum, I was happy to make a donation. The system works as is - send Geoff a PM, receive the bank transfer details, decide how generous you want to be, send the cash (electronically), receive an acknowledgement from Geoff.

A couple of other ideas for discussion - I would also be happy to make a donation from sale of parts (as read elsewhereon LEC) This would be a real alternative to Ebay and not time / auction related. Benefits are that the parts may be needed by someone here and secondly a fee on the sale of the parts would help sustain the Forum. Obviously no sale / no fee and would need to be cheaper than Ebay / Paypal.

Also, where parts are not available or expensive in relation to the manufacturing cost, the 'group buy' or centralised LEC purchase could benefit members and provide a trading profit. There are hundreds of small manufacturing companies in the automotive after market and the costs of tooling for short runs is not insurmountable. Some suppliers have already shown their readyness to support LEC. Some Members have been successful in sourcing new manufactured parts other than GM standard parts - ie wishbones, indicator covers , so what other parts are needed?

I would also be prepared to make a donation for the download of parts / service manuals etc. Some manuals are available elsewhere but may be incomplete - having access to the originals is valuable.

We have to be a bit careful about the Lotus manuals - I don't think we can be seen to be selling them (like the toerags on eBay) even if it is for non-profit making LEC. However, if people use the manuals and wish to make a donation in consideration of the time and effort that people have put in to make them available, then that is a different matter.
