I can’t claim to have done it myself yet but polyurethane seems to be.

Poly is easy to work on a lathe - I use simple tools like Stanley blades to do the cutting and it works fine.
That said, the whole point of Simon looking at this is to try and get the bushes remanufactured in sleeved, bonded rubber as per the original..... they are all available in Poly from SJ's & SWL, so if you need a set, then they can be purchased anyway. (and some are still around in rubber, albeit not cheap).
