PIPES, ASM Water By-Pass TURBO in Stainless Steel
====================

Currently, my Elan M100 S2 is undergoing a major engine restoration.

My mechanic told me it is about time to replace those 2 ASM Water By-Pass Turbo PIPES.
A100E6338S and A100E6362S

I was informed that A100E6338S pipe is about £270. Dave Bean sells one for about 500+ USD.

As you can see from the picture, the top pipe has one end which is attached to a Suction PIPE (A100E6334S). This suction pipe (about £25) is a 3-way pipe. Also, an O ring is needed; A100E6339S at about £1. My M100 S2 was made in 1995. I suppose it is about time to replace them. I can see rust buildup inside the pipes.

So, I have asked my mechanic to make those 2 pipes in stainless steel. Would you be interested?

I would like to see if I can get another 8 sets going. About the price, he has not told me yet. My reservation price is about £120. Is that too much for 2 pipes in stainless steel? I should know the price soon.

This is for gauging LEC members' interest in those pipes ONLY.

Sorry if this sounds dense but, just to clarify:
A100E6338S = long bypass
A100E6362S = short bypaas
A100E6334S = suction pipe

Am I right in thinking you plan to get the long bypass from Dave Bean and have the other two fabricated?

I assume Dave Bean sells the original (mild steel) long bypass?
I'd be interested in getting all three in stainless.

I was hoping to start a group buy for the long bypass myself as I've just had the garage make one up for me. I asked for stainless but as it came back painted, I assume they used lead.

Hi,
I am assessing LEC members' interest in the set (1 long ASM by-pass pipe and 1 short ASM by-pass pipe; all in stainless steel). If the suction 3-way pipe can be made in stainless steel, I will let you all know.

Lotus OEM ASM by-pass pipes are expensive. I do not plan to buy them. That is why I want to custom make those pipes at less than half of the Lotus price.
