Embroidered Elan Jacket -- Anybody interested?

OK, I'm not sure if Group Buys was the right place for this, but if it's not, I'll trust the powers that be to move it somewhere more appropriate.

I was thinking about getting one of the lightweight jackets from the lotus webstore, but I don't really like that it just has the word "Lotus" on the breast. I decided to look into getting something custom, and I've come to this site. They have many different jackets, etc to choose from. Below is the jacket I'm wanting to get.

It comes in different colors

The next two pictures are the graphics I sent them for an estimate.

My plan is for the embroidery to be all in one color (I'm going with matching the jacket's liner for mine -- I like subtlety), and both graphics will be about 2 1/2 inches in size on the jacket.

Here's what I'm asking: The one-time set-up charges for the graphics are $40 each. The jacket shown above, with just one graphic on it = $55 US, or with both = $60 US. I'm hoping there is enough interest in this to help me with the set-up charges. A one-off jacket would cost me $140, but if others are interested in sharing the cost of the set-ups equally, we could get the cost down quite a bit per unit. For example, if 8 people want to go in, a jacket like the one I want (with both graphics) will only cost $70 US, plus shipping. That's pretty good I think. The email I got from them says they use UPS, and I've asked them for a shipping quote/estimate, and I also asked if they can ship internationally.

I'll start the list (in hopes that I'm not the only one interested). Could make a nice Christmas gift for that special Elan-owner in your life too. Remeber, you can choose a different jacket/shirt/etc from the one above.

By the way, I did the best I could, but if anybody has "Elan" in a better font, even just a jpeg/gif etc of it, I'd like to have it.

I suspect you might get as many suggestions for designs as people on this board!!

...I quite like the Elan...(without 'elan' as Trig's suggestion) but would be equally happy with the Lotus badge or the cat on skates...

...the thing that would worry me is ordering clothes at a distance, without trying them on for size, etc...

...If I could find someone who could check??...

...I don't suppose you are 6ft tall, 14 stone, with a slight beer belly, are you ??

I saw that jacket in the LEC clothing thread. It's not that I don't like LEC-branded things -- I do -- but I want a Lotus-branded jacket. I just don't like the lightweight one the Lotus Webstore sells because it doesn't have the logo on it, it just has "Lotus." I also want something with the Elan identification, but they have zero of that. Just hoping there are a few more people who want something similar to what I do, so I can bring my cost down a little by spreading the set-up costs a bit.

If you look at that website, there are about a dozen different jackets from windbreakers, to parkas, including both hooded and non-hooded fleece.

Update: I got another email from them today which says they don't ship internationally, but I don't mind having them sent to me and forwarding them to somebody in the UK. They say shipping one jacket to anywhere in the US costs about $10.

Also, it looks like the consensus on the elan graphic is to do it without the word Elan. That's cool with me too.

Just noticed.....were you talking about the LEC windbreaker style, or the one I'm planning?

I thought about that. What I really want is the Lotus logo with the "Change the Rules" catch-phrase, like you see everywhere at the Lotus sites, and something to identify me as an M100 guy (which you don't find anywhere except here). With a set-up cost of $40 US for each graphic, I just can't go for a third one. If I had enough people to share the set-up costs, maybe a cat-on-skates on the sleeve, like on that LEC windbreaker. I just don't want to over-do it. I like subtle (like embroidering with thread that isn't too much contrast with the fabric of the jacket), even though I don't drive a particularly subtle car. 8)

Some people might do things like put a giant cat-on-skates on the back or something, but that's just not my style.

I've settled on the graphics I want on my jacket. I'm going to take the files to a local shop and see if the setup is any cheaper. They told me there's a minimum $25 charge to digitize graphics, then the embroidery itself will only be about $5 per graphic. I picked up a nice (mostly) fleece jacket made by Starter at the local Walmart for only $10 !! At that price, even if I don't have anybody to share the setup costs, the jacket will come in at somewhere between $70-90, which isn't bad in my mind.

Here are the final graphics: (Don't miss the "Change the rules" on the Lotus graphic)

My jacket is Navy blue, so here's how the phantom cat graphic should look on it:

If anybody's interested, let me know. When I bought the fleece jacket, they only had size XL, so I bought one. I went back today and they had a couple of size L, so I bought one of them too. After trying them both on, I'm going to use the XL for my own. If anybody wants a jacket done up like this, I will hold onto the Large and get it made up with the embroidery when I get mine. Below is a pic of what the final jacket should look like, although the embroidery will certainly show better in reality than in my below-average photoshopping job.
