Holy crap! I don't know what this car will fetch, but a brand new 1989 Esprit, stored properly since new, with only 84 miles on it!!! Who knew such a car even existed?

Folks, look at the pictures. There are two close-ups of the speedo, and the odometer definitely says 84 miles, and the condition appears to totally agree with that. The 84k in the description is obviously a typo.

Despite it being obvious and supported by the pictures it's still a bit of an 'own goal' having such an error in the description.

Let's see what a bad investment the original buyer has made here. MSRP in 1989 was around ... $80-90k. Store for 26 years, and turn that $90k into ... $40k? Let's see where this ends.

Wow, that's old school... would that be a 1905 Mini Cooper then? ... and you've still got cassettes that actually play? Goodness, I found cassettes and performance cars incompatible as the coil of tape got shaken about too much when I hit a bump and it would go all 'wow and flutter' when the coil collapsed, and then shortly after, jam up. I converted all my cassettes and LP's to mp3 format years ago. I have got a cassette player in an elderly motorcaravan but that permanently has a cassette with a magnetic head, wire and jack plug that came with an early 'Discman' type of personal CD player so the jack gets plugged into the phone for mp3 files stored on that to be amplified through the head unit.

I've removed the OE Pioneer Radio/ CD player in the Elan and now have a Blaupunkt Brisbane that has no CD player but plays MP3 files from a SD card - very lightweight unit and the 32 GB SD card currently has 3,300 tracks using only 12.5GB of it so still room for plenty more. I'll let somebody else work out how many CD's I'd have to carry to provide that. Brisbane unit can also use the Nokia handsfree phone unit to play mp3 files from the phone but they are all on the SD card anyway so don't use that option..

What's '80's Indie' by the way?

I'm going to watch this and see where the bids end up. Likely they will go higher than I'd want to bid, but for the right price this would be a fun car to get. I figure I could drive it a few years and still sell it reasonably as a cherry low mileage car? I may call the number and see what his reserve price is....

I'll never understand these nearly no mileage cars.

cars were made to be used. sports cars were made to be enjoyed, 26 years in a garage isn't neither. a complete waste of an esprit in my opinion, just hoping the next owner actually enjoys the car.
