There is an update chip item on my site. I'm too lazy to organise an annual subscription type thing.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.

Please remit 10-GBP per annum until such time as correspondence is returned "deceased". Seems simple enough.

Alan,
Recieved my Everest chip in the post today and fitted in about 20 mins, dead easy instructions to follow.
Took the car out for a spin and although the rain is coming down, so just took it nice and steady there is a great improvement, very nice progressive boost all the way up. Will have to have a go when the road is dry.
BIG BIG Smiles

all round, your a star.
Many thanks.

Glad to hear they arrived - I'm always interested in feedback so let me know what you think once you've had a bit of time to get used to it.

I installed my Everest last weekend but no difference. turbo stops at 0.5 bar
I disconnected the battery and re connected but no difference.
If I plug my laptop into the ECU can I tell if the Everest is working and something else is blocking the boost?
Cheers,
Phil

Probably not, but you will be able to see how much boost you are actually getting.
Will anybody ever learn not to trust the gauge

Lesson for the day - the gauge is NOT accurate.

Bloody useless then isn't it, I feel an upgrade coming on... A boost guage that measures boost pressure!
The car doesn't seem much quicker, I guess I'll have to wait for the next scoobydoo to test it. Or maybe I have a fault in the engine!?
Does the Ailwyn HUD display boost pressure?

My gauge is working only in acceleration. When the car is going with constant throttle it signs 0. I think that it’s not very normal!
Have I to check if it is loosing precious pressure???

Just MPH & RPM.
Elanscan will give you an accurate boost reading.

Just sent you a PM, if you haven`t got elanscan and are near me feel free to come down and plug it in.
Well worth getting a lead though if you haven`t got one

Ratman,
That is normal behaviour. The boost is controlled by the accelerator pedal (or rather the ECU and the BSV and wastegate), and is only generated when you need it (like accelerating with 100% throttle or going uphill with the throttle pedal pressed down more than usual).
If it gave boost at all times, you would quickly suffer from overboost.

no, I don't think so. the boost is on when you are over 2000 rpm or something like this. If you said that the boost is only in acceleration, it means that it is NA when the car is in constant throttle....

A daft question, but was the engine up to operating temperature?
I believe the boost is regulated to 0.5bar until it gets to op. temp.

Yes, the engine was warm, but maybe the thermostat is wrong; it's been running cold for a while (until I stop in traffic).
I do have a Jester Smith USB Cable, so I could sit a mate in the passenger seat to watch the boost pressure on Elanscan
Cheers!

Phil,
let the engine run (at standstill) until the fans cycle (the temp gauge should read about 3/4 when the fans kick in), to make sure the engine is at operating temp and then give it a trial.
Even if your boost gauge is not accurate, you should feel a noticable difference!

Almost 100% correct Ratman, like an NA, only with the restriction of the turbo in the inlet when you don't have the throttle very wide open. This is because the amount of gas flowing out of the engine is insufficient to create boost.

Ratman, you should see boost only when on high throttle - the turbo needs high flow on the exhaust side and low resistance on the intake side to push the intake pressure above ambient pressure (as others have already said).
Phil, check your BCFV is connected (clear topped thing attached to the side of the air cleaner box) and that the fuse is ok.
