Thanks for the offer Doug, but believe it or not, I didn't bother taking any pics of the bike as I felt it wasn't as worthy as the Lotus Marque. I'll post a pic once its done though, that is if my new radiators ever get delivered for it, damn Ebay!! :-D

O.K. guys, Ive got a confession, so yeah, I'm taking a wee break from the Elan. So I decided to rebuild my road legal honda crf450r bike - well thats finished now so back to the Elan, well err not yet - oops I'm building a bloomin kit car aswell now

Look on the bright side guys, the Elan is nice and dry and all wrapped up in cotton wool, although its still not quite finished, its certainly not deteriorating in any way, its nice and cosy in my garage!

Just mentally preparing myself for phase 2 of the "hell, its only money concept" :smt102

WATCH THIS SPACE!!! (eventually)

SEE YA

Hi Monty, not sure, its all about money, may be getting made redundant next week !

So I will have to wait and see what happens.

No matter what happens my Elan is going nowhere

And at some point the saga will continue here

Just wish I could lay my hands on a good second hand genuine Lotus front clam shell (top shell) at the right price

That would kick start me again !

Cheers Jamie

Cheers Monty, Im now watching it on my ebay

Picking it up could be a tricky one for me, never mind the distance, I wonder if the guy would hold on to it for a couple of weeks if I win it ?

I'll sent him a message and ask !

Hi Jamie

Hoped the SGL thing was not going to affect you  . Where is the clam you are after, if it is near Donington, then I may be able to bring it up the road for you as it is currenlty looking like I will have to take the discovery rather than the elan (Still hoping to take the elan if I can though)

Hi Andy, hows it going, is the paint work still holding up ok?

Nice offer but its Spalding, a 125 miles away

Actually thinking about it,it would fit in a disco and I could make it well worth your time !!

If you were interested that is ?

Glad you're back, Jamie.

is the poor Elan just halted on your assembly line then? -- hope you remember how it all goes back together!

hope you get some progress; I was talking about your project at the Hethel anniversary and most people had forgotten it or have joined since the project mothballed . . .

cheers

Shouldn't be too bad really just the front end to complete and paint the doors and a couple of other bits and bobs

Main reason I stopped was because the elan was running away with too much money, as you can imagine with the amount of new parts she has.

So I chose the safe option and just threw a few cotton sheets over it and forgot about it for a while !

Mind you I have no regrets, not when I see what I have now compared to what I had when I started.

Cheers Jamie
