I hope you're not expecting the PCE to cure overboost Mr. P. You'll need to port the wastegate as well.

Yep, see where your coming from Geoff, no ive got a spare turbo thats had wastegate ported, just waiting on this pipe to get it all together. What i meant was, ive got overboost now, & its bloody frustrating driving it, so can't wait to get this pipe ( & turbo ) on, so i can really gun it again !

Just pay me when all is said & done. I'm taking the car in to get front-pipes fabricated on the 11th. Will then send all parts to JH for coating. The shipping method I use will determine how quickly JH performs their task. Only NEXT DAY shipments are immediately coated and have a guaranteed return date. All other shipments wait in the queue & the only way for me to give you an approx date would be to call them & inquire as to their backlog right B4 I ship to them.

Matt,

Could you confirm you're providing the top and bottom fasteners? I'd like to cross them off my shopping list!

I presume the top ones will be M8x23 or thereabouts but on page 1 you referred to some antiquated measurement system for the bottom set (3/8"-16 :-D

). If possible, could these be kept as M10's?

Yes, some are those serated flange nuts you so admire!

No, they are already bought. This size fits BOTH the bottom of the PCE and the front-flange of a stock pipe. No worries for you as all nuts & washers needed are also included. (Would you have me replace the 2.5" gasket with a metric gasket? How ever did you put things together before adopting the metric system? :smt056

)
Besides, if I gave you metric God only knows where you'd screw them in. :bananasex:

This way I know you'll keep them to the application at task.

FRONT-PIPE BUYERS ONLY (not PCE):
Drove 60-miles roundtrip to Stage 6. Leeland has left to work for another speed shop. As such Dwight can't make the pipes until Friday. He offered a $40 stainless option in lieu of mild steel. I'm getting mine made with stainless, as the standard exhaust has no heat shielding over the front-pipe anyway. If you'd rather have yours rendered in stainless let me know BEFORE Friday. With the cost of ceramic coating it'd be roughly the same price anyway.

BTW the shop didn't have enough SS tubing on hand. They expect to get more 2/22 and said I can pick up all the pipes on Monday 2/25. Woody, your pipe is the only one I left spec'd for mild-steel & coated.

For front-pipes or pre-cat eliminators? My Front-pipe supplier can't do it without fitting the pipe insitu. The pre-cat guy stated he had to have a production lot of at least 10. Whether you can convince him otherwise & at what price would be the topic. When he told me I'd have to order 10 it wasn't my nature to argue with him. That's my nature but it doesn't have to be yours. I try and nurture a basis for future projects, and one of those ways is not telling someone how to run their business, at least not during your 1st transaction.

I am totally flumoxed with the shop. Car was to be ready Monday but shop has not returned my calls this week. Their recorder was full 3 of 5 times I called. Will drive over there Thursday Feb 28.

All 5 pipes are made (even though he was only supposed to make 4!), and all are stainless! They said Ricky (the front-office guy) took 3 days off w/o warning. Still, I couldn't pick up the car today as I went there thinking it wasn't ready. I'm going out of town Friday morning so I can't pick up the car until Tuesday, but I'll be too busy to do anything personal until Friday March 7th anyway.

Derpipers. Now I just need time to box stuff up and send it all to JH.

BTW these pipes are really nice, 1st-rate work. Don't know if you can tell from the pics how much time it took for him to cut, at the correct angle, each short piece & weld it on one little section at a time. However, that meticulous work maintains the ID crucial to good exhaust flow. Notice the quality of the welds too. No gloppy heaping-on of metal to be found. They look like classic F1 pipes.

The top one is my old pipe with a new flex spliced-in, headed to JH. I've a stainless in my car right now, as like I said, they made an extra one.

starting to get very exited, when i get mine it gives me the chance to port the wastegate and i'll be able to put my foot down again.... ooooh i cant wait. :-D
