It does seem to be sitting rather high Sandra. Is it still on the original springs and dampers ? I'm sure it will be on that low mileage but I have seen a few others that have changed springs and inserted the wrong (American type) ones. Mainly SE's though I must admit

PS Just a thought but is your front black number plate road legal ? I thought only cars of a certain age could have black with silver letters and all others had to have the white background with black letters.

99% sure they will be standard springs.
If you look closely you will see some velcro on the black plates. just for show(s) white and yellow for the road, think its pre 73 for black plates

mine had 20k on the clock when i picked it up and its sat about an inch lower than yours on standard 20 year old springs,

i bought some standard springs from sj's last year and fitted them, the car looked like a 4+4 so replaced them with the originals,

mines still on standard dampers and springs all round as i dont use it in anger, still felt stable on the Donington afternoon drive chasing GUK around the roundabouts ,

Whippet, they'll be the federal springs. I fitted some and turned my elan into a monster truck. Like you I changed then back to the old springs.

Just got the Elan back from Cornering Force, what a diference Full GEO set-up including corner weight etc http://www.corneringforce.com/setupanalysis.html Ill post some pics in the post your wheels thread now that its lowered

How did you solve the cone issue for the bolts ?
I was told (by Chris Jordan at Speedlinecorse.co.uk) the Speedline SLS676 have 40° cone, and only Bordanova in France can deliver nuts.
The nuts are M12x1.25 thoug, so you would need to use conversion studs from M12x1.5 to M12x1.25.
Looking at your pictures, you managed it with bolts..., where did you find them ?
And what did U use as centre caps ?

I got back into the details, and got confused again.
Seems like you have 90° cone ER03 ?
I'll go back to Speedline to have the cone angle rechecked and confirmed.
Conversion studs I found at demon-tweeks.

Speedline informed me there is a shaft of +/- 25mm, so 60mm conversion studs will be just O.K. or do ou suggest 80mm studs and cut them to length ?

Interesting is that this 25mm shaft, may result in the possibility to machine the wheels to the desired 60mm offset.
1. Needs to be checked with the wheel in hands (or with drawing, but I doubt I'll be able to get hold of a technical drawing)
2. Will a 7mm offset increase be possible, in combination with my 16" Hi-Spec brake kit ?
I noticed you've got Hi-Spec as well, what is the clearance between brake claw and the spokes of the Speedline ?

Ime sure i ended up getting 80mm studs as the 60mm didnt allow enough turns on the wheel nuts, and as you mentioned they need cutting, 5-10mm?.
The caliper clearance to the spokes is massive you could just about put two calipers side by side GrA wheels
The lug nuts in the link i posted are much better quality then i received from Speedline.
Cant remember the exact weight, but with tires they are much lighter then the standard wheels......
