I am John C. and I used to be Brit-Car-Nut here on LEC.

I am back on LEC but have a new ID.

I developed the Heavy Duty Replacement shift cable kit and have been supplying them for the last 9 years.

I also include a "Short-Shift" adapter kit based on Dave H's project from years ago (with full approval from Dave).
Dave actually sent me his drawings so I could have a starting point for the project.

Anyway, I have 4 sets of cables and short-shift kits available right now and unless there is a suddent request for more, these might be my last kits.

I have the components to make a lot more kits but the cables are expensive and I can't justify spending a lot of money just to have cables sitting on the bench.

My Elan went back to her previous custodian 2years ago and I went to an Evora just in time for COVID to disrupt most of my planned trips!
If anyone reading this is contemplating upgrading their cables DO NOT DELAY! With the short shift, apart from transforming the shift action they take away the lingering worry of cable failure and are very well made.
Along with the PNM brakes they are by far the best upgrade available for the Elan (in my humble opinion)

I am still offering my shift cable and short-shift kits for $595.00 (now discounted to $565.00) + shipping cost.

To quote shipping costs, I will need your address so I can "shop" for a decent shipping price.

I also have enough extra parts to make a few "custom" short-shift kits, so I will consider putting together a few short shift kits for the stock SE cables (although I need to warn everyone that the short shift kit works because I move the pivots around and that puts more strain on the cables).

I don't want to be responsible if someone installs a modified kit and while heavy shifting, one of the cables break.

The S2 and A-B cables are a bit stronger and are less likely to fail, but that was one of the reasons Bob B. (and then myself) chose to use the heavy duty push-pull cables.

Any requests for the modified short-shift kits will need to identify which cables you are now using so I can change out the connectors to match the cables you have.

I have some used original SE cables as well as a set of used A-B cables to test with so I can make sure the modified short-shift kits will work on your car.

The S2 version cables are very much like the A-B cables.

Between the shift cables I have offered over the years and other replacement cables like A-B and Lotus S2, there are probably not many cars
left with the original SE (plastic boss) shift cables still installed on any M100s and there is probably not a great demand for new cables.

I am proud to have designed, built and offered my heavy duty shift cable kits as well.

There are 5 of my shift cable kits (with the short-shift adapters included) left in my stock.

I have lowered the price for a set of shift cables WITH the short-shift adapter kit
to $565.00 + postage

I also have a large inventory of original (OEM) M100 parts that I have collected over the years and
although they are not inexpensive, I try to keep the prices affordable so they will go to new homes.

(I bought the parts directly from Lotus UK with shipping added to the original Retail price).

My health is not great (I have leukemia), so I am hoping to sell down as much as possible.

The honest answer is yes, but it has 1,228 part numbers on the list and it includes both used and new parts.

It would be a lot easier if you just send me a list of what parts you want and I can tell you whether I have any either new or used.

An attached excel spreadsheet bassed on the LOTUS part number from you would be easiest for me.

I can usually verify a part is available fairly quickly.

Another BIG concern for me is shipping medium and large parts to the UK.

Let's start with your "most needed or desired parts" list and see how we do...

I have been working on redesigning a replacement Shift Cable Kit since the AB Cables disappeared and the Bob B. cables ceased.

5 members have purchased kits so far and at least one has had them installed with a favorable review.

I don't want to try to run a Group Buy since I can usually supply 5 kits at a time but can quickly get more cables for a heavier demand.

I pre-assemble all of the parts and I have a jig I use to adjust everything to get them close and then I install them on the test car to get them closer.

You will receive fully assembled cables, so you don't have to figure out where all the bits and pieces go.

They are similar to Bob B.'s concept but I found a way to improve the angular binding solutions and have used materials that are less likely to corrode due to galvanic dissimilarities.

I have also prepared a web site to use as a guide for installation.
