ElanScan and N/A Elans

Postby KenS » Sat 03.08.2024, 19:05

Can anyone confirm that there is not a version of ElanScan that is compatible with N/A Elans?
There are some old posts between 2006 and 2009 where work was being done to find the necessary data request ID specific to the n/a, but I cannot find anything newer to indicate a solution was evolved. Cannot see any reference to any related changes in the change history for ElanScan versions 0.9.9.61 or 0.10.12.71 beta but cannot find change history for version 0.9.9.63

id love to get a elanscan working for the NA, but when asked about it, i was given such a low expectation of it working that i never even bothered to plug the cable in the car.
being so rare, i rather not risk it at the expense of ending up with a dud ECU on a car that has a lot of potential in my hands

Thanks Joao, adds to the understanding that ElanScan has not been updated to include the NA Elan.
Anyone know were to find any info on the NA Elans ALDL protocol (data request ID, data message header etc)? With this we may be able to get ALDLScan working for NAs with a simple change to its .ALDL protocol file. May also give someone the opportunity to attempt the much harder task of updating ElanScan to run with NAs.

Interesing point

Does anyone know if there was a Tech-1 cartridge made specifically for the NA?
If not it's likely the protocols are very similar if not the same.
