in your opinion are et 40 and et 35 mountable?

The wheel in the first picture is lovely, not for an Elan though in my opinion, maybe a Honda or something JDM.

You want something with a 45mm offset at least, closer to 60 the better, but also remember your centre bore, Mini centre bore is smaller than Elan
so wont fit straight on.

If you have original S2 alloys keeping them on would be my advice, anything else will devalue the car.

yes of course I'll keep them, but I'd like something nicer. maybe I'd go for the ones in the second photo. et 40.
yes I know the mini hole is different but I have someone who can mill it, just as I can make centering rings.

I seem to be counting 5 holes in the wheel in second picture. I trust there is a 4x100 option that may be more suitable.

I damaged a 17" BBS wheel when I hit a big pothole while travelling on the M25 to work in Slough and the rim flared out on the inside. (I have Hispec twin pot calipers front & rear with 295mm discs front & 264mm rear.)

ebay found me a set of wheels not far from where I was working that a girl had used on a 'hot' black Corsa that would keep me mobile while I got the BBS repaired. She'd had them sprayed orange with some epoxy plastic paint that doesn't seem to chip and don't seem to get dirty but on a blue M100 that are a bit like Marmite - some people love them, some hate them. The design of those is not unlike the second design.
