BELT REFERENCE NUMBER

I'm French. I need to change the belts on my Elan.
Can you confirm the part number for the Gates 4PK698 alternator belt and the Dayco 6K946 power steering belt?

Yes PHIL70 I can confirm, Gates 4PK698 alternator belt and Dayco 6PK946 p/steering belts fitted my '90 SE a year ago.

I'm quite certain that my alternator is original but I gather some after-market alternator pulleys can be a larger diameter, tho'

i dont know what size belts they are, but i know its mentioned either in the wiki, or in some topic around that the alternator belt can be swapped with a sligtly larger one, which not only fit the isuzu alternators from rockauto. but also, in the Elan alternators, it shift them a few mm away from the engine, which makes a huge difference in access to a spanner when you are tensioning.

i definitly recomend getting the larger belt.

The ony thing to add is that IF you have Air Conditioning, you will need a longer PAS belt to go over the extra pulley, but for most cars, your part numbers are correct.
