Norfolk S2s and beyond...

Sorry if this gets posted multiple times. I can’t seem to get moderate approval for replies.

I saw the Anglian car auction aqua blue Elan SE. This was the first Elan SE I saw in person. In pictures these cars look amazing but close up it felt really old. It’s a 30 or so year old car in the end.

I am not sure how good a very well kept one looks like or how easy it is to repair and replace different parts.

Here are some pictures I got. What do you think? Apparently the passenger window needs help to go up. Driver door inner panel is loose. I couldn’t see with the top closed. But where the top meets the windscreen looks very old and no new seals.

That looks better than mine, and mine had extensive work done during the lockdown in those areas.

Thanks! I saw the top closed today and looks like all seals around it needs replacing but the top is ok. Rear window is not very clear and blended a bit.

I can probably work on cosmetic parts but not mechanic parts, at least until I learn. Do you see any works that need doing based on the pictures? How costly roughly?

I did bid in the end but this one got away. Sold for £5940 with auction premium.

The engine sound was really good though. I really need to see some more and perhaps some s2s to get a better idea. Something already well kept might be a better choice for me.

Are there any Elan meetups in Norfolk?

More likely to see one at an LDC or EALC monthly meet or one of the shows that they may be attending.
