Tell Tale conversion to LED

Postby AJSGSE1990 » Mon 29.06.2026, 19:24

Hello, am struggling to find the spec of the Tell Tale lights, as far as I can see the bulbs are T5 but the holders come in all sorts of sizes. The base is 12mm which is a T.47 apparently. Has anyone bought from these peeps?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Sorry, don't know what you mean by tell tale lights, but might be worth looking at Light Bulbs in wikilec

The little twist bulbs holders that light up the dash indicators such as brake warning, indicators, and low battery etc. I can find the bulbs themselves but not the lamp holders as I cannot find dimensions of the products sold.

Cheers.

A word of warning about the indicator light: current flows through it in opposite directions depending on which side you are indicating.
This is fine when you use a bulb, because it works in either direction.
A LED only works 1 way though.

Absolutely, thank you. I am doing a full rewire with PDMs so at the moment only really need those plastic holders. I might just end up using push through 8mm units, next I need to try and frost the LED bulb to get them a bit more diffused.

Cheers.

I’ve used Classic LED many times a few years back - decent quality and engineered in Uk by the owner. Probably the only place I’d go for LED conversions.
