well after no response I decided to take the leap and went fopr these as they were a new formula and supposed to be the nid to top end of the scale.....theyve got reinforced side walls and rim protecttion into the bargain and at £57.50 incl vat fitted and ballanced I couldnt say no...
Ive just done 1000+ miles on them over the weekend in snow and all sorts I can report that theyre excellent..good grip, good road holding and very quiet...they also show naff all wear after the first 1000miles

I'm impressed with these tyres....they are sticking to the road in this winter sog and slush a heck of a lot better than the rubber I had on before.....and I can get my foot a good way to the floor before Ive over done it and spinning the wheels up!!!...

Just seen this post,

I am looking at tyres at the moment and seem to be leaning towards the Pilots.

I take it you are on the S2 wheels. As a matter of interest SW Lotus fit these as standard to S2 wheels.

Just curious how they are handling in the summer we've had (now officially ended).

yes they are on 16" rims......
and as for summer handling.....erm....that brown stuff and a blanket spring to mind!!!!
Ive clocked up about 4k or 5k miles since I put them on and theyre not looking like Ive had them on for a couple of hundred.....oh and theyre nice an quiet!!!....

They sound good. Shame they don't do a 15" version for us. The Yokohama website is very helpful, but shows only these 15" sizes:

I got a price for Yoko A539's yesterday from Tom Farmer Autocare. £84.50 fully fitted and balanced for 205/50/R15's - think they were W rated, not Z though

I asked for discount for 2 and he said £79 a tyre. I thought this was quite a good price ??

luv them.....done about 8k on them and they hardly look used....
really good in the dry...nice and quiet....and pretty good in the wet too!!!

Fitted 2 Yoko's yesterday. The price went even further south when I said use the existing metal valves and I'd dispose off the old tyres. £74 a corner - fully fitted
