When I was asked by Sy and Doug to take over as LEC Administrator and become responsible for the day to day running of the site my first thought was wow! Rapidly followed by why me? (Then I said yes

) Then how on earth do follow 2 class acts like Doug and Sy?
The first thing I want to say is thank you to Sy for the huge effort he has put into LEC over the years it has been a labour of love and LEC would simply not be what it is without the effort he has put in. I think he deserves a break and I'm delighted that he is staying by the poolside and hope the Pina-Colada and the pool stay at just the right temperature.
The second thing I want to say is LEC will stay much as it is, a community of people with a common interest in one thing, the Elan M100, so owners past, present and future or anyone else with an interest in our car will find a welcome here. At Donington this year a couple of people told me that they thought this was probably the best single model car website they had found, I want to keep it that way and look to making it even better. How we make it better is down to you, tell us what you want to see, if you have found great ideas for web based groups like us elsewhere, then let me or the mod team know. I'm no technical whizz on computers so I don't know what's possible or not but I will consider your ideas and look at what can be done.
Although we are, and will remain, predominantly web based I am keen to progressively give us a strong and professional physical presence at 'real world events' such as Donington and elsewhere. It's this presence that has allowed the relationship with Lotus, Club Lotus and LEF to be built up, both of which I see as important and valuable to us into the future.
Thats about it from me, I'm honoured to have been asked to do this and delighted to accept, my aim now, along with the rest of the management team is to do my best to fill a very big pair of shoes!
Cheers,
Nige
