It appears that there are 3 options here - but you *MAY* have a different explanation, which I would be grateful to hear.
(1) You did actually write this post, for whatever reasons you saw fit, and then seek to add a twist.
(2) Someone else has hacked your account and written it to make it seem like it was you.
(3) There is a huge conspiracy against you, John and the rest of the world.
At the moment, you seem to be suggesting (2) or (3) as being likely, but personally, I am going for #1.
It is no secret that you and John are friends, have been involved in many good projects for the benefit of LEC and its members, and are "on the same side".
However, I do take exception to some things - one of which is that I am in any way complicit in immoral, underhand or deceiptful practice, and will defend myself as appropriate, wherever that may lead.
Let me address a few facts for you, and spell things out:-
John made the first post on this thread of his own volition - clearly stating that he wished to leave, and was taking his bat with him (the hosting site for the manuals, which many people have found extremely usefull, and we were all grateful for)....... just how does this fit with your assertion that he is "Being Silenced"?
Clearly he has added an awful lot to the forum/community over the past few years - and will be missed by many.
He is a loss in much the same way as any of the other businesses using LEC leaving would be - we'd all be a bit stuffed if Steve Roberts decided to close down SJ's with no notice - no-one likes to see a reduction in options for parts.
Maybe that is some of the problem - some people don't like to be 'competitors' in a business environment, and whilst they are a 'sole provider' everything is fine, but in the commercial world, everyone is trying to earn a crust, and that should be seen as fair enough. If a product is offered for a price, people have the choice whether to purchase or not.
You make a point of saying that "this post will be removed by a mod" (sic), suggesting that I or someone else who has the full trust of myself and the rest of the Admin team, would seek to do something underhand to enhance my (our?) position, and illiminate free speach........ however, it was John who has chosen to make his post, perform his actions, and leave. He was not "thrown out".
Anyway, I have no great desire to argue (but will do so if required). I have already had to spend an inordinate amount of time and energy in building a site of reference for the benefit of others, and wish for some time for myself.
You have the right to reply if you wish to use it - but you also had the right to simply remove the post you made suggesting that there were underhand things going on.
I have all of the site access logs saved as screenshots in an evidential format (as well as their actual existance) - and will be more than happy to produce them if required to support my assertion that options (1) or (2) are far far more likely that (3) - certainly well above the 'balance of probabilities' that is required in the English Civil Law system.
(ie, I can show that the site is secure, robust and servers are securely held. I can show that the post you refer to was made from an IP address which you have previously posted from on many ocassions, and originated in Bahrain. I can further show that the post has not been altered, edited or changed in any way since it was first published. The one thing I cannot show is who actually accessed your account and pressed the buttons......... but I don't think that I need to).
