I have lost considerable boost on my Elan - and am planning to do the wastegate wiggle. But have a couple of questions before proceeding. The oil supply to my turbo comes from up from the engine and passes in front of the turbo rather than behind as I have seen in the manuals - having tried to get the three bolts holding the actuator on, the oil supply pipe is in the way (see attached photo) - so a couple of questions
1) The union of the supply pipe a union that appears to be steel and copper - if I undo the junction, what sealant if any should I use to rebuild.
2) The vacuum supply on my turbo goes through a brass valve before it connects to the actuator - the valve is adjustable, but it is not clear to me what I should use to determine whether it is adjusted correctly. Before the wastegate became stuck, the guage shows max boost of about 8-9 psi
3) Any clues on getting the bottom of the three bolts on the actuator flange out? Or better, back in.

If it was my car, I would remove it...
My post somehow was delayed as i typed it at home and it was sent when in the office
