I have had a problem with my car ticking over at 1200rpm and would not reset by service mode.At each gearchange the revs hung on . Timing was checked and corrected , every vacuum pipe from the plenum replaced or checked , vast quantities of wd sprayed to try and get a rise in rpm no effect , tps checked working perfectly . At this time I had no idea what to do . Then remembered a previous problem with a TVR . So disconnected Lamba , the tickover immediately dropped to just under 1000rpm and it stopped hanging on the throttle . Has anyone had this problem and where can I get a lamba It's a 1995 S2 Turbo

It's a drop in rpm you need, not a rise

The car will idle from cold at ~1200 rpm but when the engine is warm you need to adjust the tickover to ~950 rpm in service mode. It won't just reset itself in service mode. You need to adjust the tickover speed manually - see Wikilec. Also, check that the throttle cable is correctly adjusted

PS where on earth were you spraying vast quantities of WD40 and why

WD40 (or brake cleaner) On the vacuum lines Rambo.
If there is a leak it is sucked in and act as extra fuel, hence the expected rise in rpm.

I did adjust the tickover manually but on returning to normal mode the tickover rose again,If you spray WD on a vacuum leak it causes the revs to peak for a short time indicating the location of a leak.

It might on a car with carburettors, but with the ECU controlling the RPM to the target idle you are fighting a computer - it might work in service mode though.
