Max timing adjustment

Postby Hoppo » Thu 11.04.2019, 20:44

When I first picked up my project it started and ran but would not drive under load. It would miss and back fire etc.

On checking the timing it was at around 1 ° advance.
So following the procedure to adjust I've got it to 16° just but the CAS is on its max adjustment.

The car now runs a dream. Pulls like a train starts first flick of the key but it cant be right to have it that far adjusted.

Best guess is the belt is a tooth out on one cam but it runs so well I'm reluctant to mess with it.

1 degree error wouldn't be detectable.

Just checking that you did it in service mode?

Full adjustment would be more than one tooth out.
