Now I have got my car back from the garage I am trying again to get elanscan to work.
I have tried using both usb ports.
On comm port 1 I get:-
Error log Bad echo received Sent F4 56 01 B5
On comm port 4 I get:-
Comm port inactive No frame start byte received Bad echo sent F4 56 01 B5
I have downloaded the driver and windows says all is working. I have set the valence to 1. Windows XP.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried cycling through the COMM Ports within Elanscan with the car runnning or do non of them return a signal? May be worth removing the installed driver and repeating the process from start as the order in which things are done can sometimes affect it?
