I had a similar issue with my S2 when I bought it. At first I thought the switch might be adjustable in and out, but it didn’t seem to be.
I used a short length of thick EPDM rubber stuck to the switch side of the actuating arm, put my phone in the boot recording on video mode, and added extra rubber thickness until I could see the light was going out when I shut the lid. Once I knew the thickness I needed, I made up a permanent pad from a piece of scrap aluminium, with a thin EPDM cushion, and glued this to the actuating arm.
Of course you could just pull the boot light wires - but be warned that one of them is also linked to the standard S2 alarm if you still have it, so watch out that you don’t exchange one problem for another
