Hesitation under acceleration

Postby Bolsom » Thu 06.06.2013, 20:07

The car starts and runs well generally, but when I am accelerating hard at 80/90 mph I get hesitations. Is this likely
to be the wastegate sticking? If yes, do I just free the actuation capsule and move it in and out to free the butterfly.

Thanks guys, I'll try both. Where did I put that interface? Last time I used it was 8 years ago!

The timing is worth a look too - especially if ES shows any knock detection.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.

Click on my WWW link for information on chips and ElanScan.

The coil packs are also worth thinking about. As they break down the first time you will notice is under maximum boost and high load - when the spark has its hardest job.

Met a new M100 owner on Sunday with exactly the same problems as you. We also talked wastegate wiggle, timing, coil packs etc................

I had a similar problem under hard acceleration. I played about with plug gaps, which did make a difference. In the end replacing the coils did the trick!

:agree:

mine would stutter under load.......
it'd get to about .4bar before it kicked off but then wouldn't do anything else......
well until it suddenly opened and gave overboost and then CEL
new coil packs sorted it.......
