Connectors to EECS and EGR are similar and very easy to mix-up.!.
Even if Belgium cars don't have the active carbon canister, you still have the wiring for it.!.
If you by mistake have connected the EECS controle to the EGR vacuum solenoid valve, this will leave this open for most of the time, and as to much recirculation would result in poor combustion, this might be the problem.
It's easy to test, just switch the two connectors. Just a suggestion. :?: :?

Thanks for helping the thinking process !
One test I did, was disconnecting the vacuumhose to the EGR valve, to ensure it's disabled.
(mentioned in previous posts, though your feedback is appreciated)
No effect.
So that rules out the EGR and EECS connectors mix-up.

Today I switched the ignition coil base plate (one of earlier mentioned suggestions).
Didn't help either... :(

Another update.
This week I checked TPS sensor, Secondary Throttle, Wastegate.
Also did a test run with the solenoid for the wastegate disconnected.
Used the TECH 1 to read the data, but nothing came up to help us determine the root cause.
Without the Everest, we experience the same fallback in RPM, though it's much less noticable.
Put the Everest in another Elan S2 (first I did a warm-up and test run with the TECH1, no issues here) and it worked fine.
So it's defenately not the Everest.

Next thing I could check was compression.
With my engine cooled down quiet a bit, we reached 7 Bar on cilinder 1 and 4, 4.5 on cilinder 2 and 5.8 on cilinder 3.
Now scheduled a leak test to find out if it's the gasket that has a leak between 2 cilinders, or maybe exhaust valves with small cracks or not sealing properly.
Scheduled the day after Lotus Festival.

Anyway, the cilinder head needs to come off to repair, a "nice" job for the fall.
