Hiya,
I put the car in service mode to check fault codes and heard a rapid ticking noise coming from behind the intake manifold, disappeared when I removed the paperclip and returned when I reinserted it. Any ideas what it might be? Secondary throttle solenoid?
Also, I moved the throttle and there was a short of crunchy electrical noise, perhaps from the TPS?
Cheers,
Will

Will,
I’m sure it won’t be this simple but ...
Having never heard a sound on the occasion of putting the clip in, my first thought would be a bad connection on the clip.
Try a thicker one and see if waggling it about makes any difference.

Resurrecting this old thread.
I’m trying to resolve some issues with my car. There is a slight hunt at idle and car is stalling when coming to a junction.
Put the car in service mode to pull the codes and I noticed this same ticking noise coming from behind the plenum.
The rhythm seems to match the rev fluctuation.
Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this?
