I see no reference to NGK in the Wiki or the forum which is strange.

You could consider the DR39 coils from Rock Auto. They are absolutely correct and very inexpensive since every GM car for over a decade used them.

I don't know how the two topics did mismatch as they had two different names at the beginning, likely I did wrong.

I replaced the ignition coils yesterday and all is well. I can see on one of the removed coils that one of the HV studs has a lot of corrosion. That may not have been the issue, but I could have probably fixed that if I'd checked earlier. The new coils seem to be performing as intended.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Lets hope that any other work I have to do in future does not involve the same level of contortion!
