Remember, the switch was used in other US and Canadian cars, so the switch will fit ALL of the versions.
You just need to figure out where the wires go and solder flag type female connectors, use a bit of heat-shrink and you have a cheap solution.
If someone wants to send me a harnessed version with a bad switch, I will be happy to make the mods and send it back.
I will also be happy to identify what each post on the switch does

Bit old hat that, Dave; they’ve all upgraded now. I hear tell there are rolling code capture apps which work on Android phones. TWOC for Dummies.

True - but then I was specifically referring to the ram-raiders...... not the proper thieves.
Ram-raiders lost interest with the new generation of Cavaliers which had imobilisers (ie, nowt newer than an M reg) - they had a habit of getting caught when sitting in a car that wouldn't start

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

If you can sort it mechanically, there are 3 connections you need to make (see DIN 72552 for the switch connections which are probably marked on your defective switch):
Live feed to #30: Brown wire to ignition switch connector pin 2 comes out as red in the pigtail.
Switched ignition to #15: White wire to ignition switch connector pin 3 comes out as black in the pigtail.
Starter relay to #50: White/red wire to ignition switch connector pin 1 comes out as black/red in the pigtail.
There may be an extra red wire connected to the ignition switch connector pin 4 which does not appear to be used but the reference number on the switch and DIN 72552 should allow you to determine its function and whether to connect it or not.
