Fuel pump not working

Hi, I have gone to start my car for the first time in 5 months, ensured the battery was fully charged, turned on the ignition and there was no noise from the fuel pump, checked the 7.5 amp fuse in the main fuse box and replaced the fuel pump relay in the battery compartment. I also checked that the inertia switch was reset. Havng done all that still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you got an immobiliser fitted?

Yes, it did have an alarm fitted but it played up, it was removed by an electrician and replaced with an immobiliser

Personally I'd see if the pump works by conecting straight to a live source...


Make sure the rest of the car is safe if your using the same battery...

If I were a betting man I'd say it was to do with the afore mentioned...

Thought I would update this post, I checked there was power down at the fuse box (7.5a) which there is, both sides of the fuse.
The next unit in this line is the inertia switch but there was no power from the feed wire (purple), therefore I concluded there is a break somewhere in this line.
I started to trace the wire and behind the battery I found a previous owner had scotch locked another wire to it and it looks like that was straight from the battery, I most have dislodged it when I removed the battery over the winter. The only saving grace was that the wire had a fuse in the line.
I have run another wire from the fuse box to the inertia switch and all is well with the fuel pump.
BUT
Now it will not start, the fuel pump is priming, there is fuel down at the engine, the is a good healthy spark, but, when I removed the plugs they were very wet.
I have cleaned them and will leave them out so the cylinders can dry out.
Is there anything else I have missed or can do to resolve this problem?

Well my little beauty is running again, I cleaned the plugs and dried out the cylinders. Just for good measure I added fresh fuel to the stuff already in there.
She started first time. So all I need to do now is run the new wire from the fuse box to the inertia switch along side the existing loom rather that through the middle of the car.
