Tunnel trim edge curling

Postby Squirtydog » Sun 16.03.2014, 21:19

Has anyone found a solution for this? Something just to neaten it up.
I was wondering if the edge could be covered with something like this.
Ideally a more plain texture though.

I am currently in the process of reviewing the internals of the Lotus Elan and have used these guys when doing work on the Classic Mini's, they have a few options that might be usable here

Found this today during a tidy up.

Just a piece of plastic paper binding.
Attaches easily to the trim edge.

If this was in the same shade of grey or red like my carpet, then it would tidy the edge up nicely. It is the front portion under the dash which is curling, but you get the idea.

Firstly... Thoughts?
Second... Anyone know how to get hold of more than an A4 length? Can't be too expensive and is readily removable if it looks naff so may be worth a try.

Problem with edge trims for cars is that they seem to struggle with a 6mm thick edge.

I have looked at quite a few automotive binding profiles and found them all to be a bit bulky, surface textured and not ideal. The solution above is what I am going for.

I have found these guys who supply the paper binding as pictured above in suitable lengths. However their website indicates package quantities of 100. I am hopefully going to get a sample of 8mm and 11mm to try. If I can get a lower quantity in black, is there any interest out there? The result really is as tidy as the picture above.
