There have been a few people who have said that high boost power gains are only fully realised if the power enrichment is backed off a bit - this kit will give me the ability to find out for myself. I'll also be able to look at spark advance. It'll make testing a lot easier too since I'll be able to try as many setups as I can create without having to swap chips over.[/quote]

Good for you Alan, I'm sure those who do upgrades will benefit. :)

It might make you want to get rid of the standard exhaust.

I've never believed the "power" calculation from ElanScan. On my car I can't get anything sensible from it. ElanScanMan will no doubt be along shortly to enlighten us. To measure and compare power (or torque) between different setups I use three methods: a) dyno results, b) ElanScan measurements of 0-60 (through the gears - prone to variability) and c) ElanScan measurements of 30-70 in 3rd (export the data points to Excel, plot speed vs time, and insert a straight-line regression line - gives good results but it's a pain to do).

If you do a dyno session, have ElanScan running and post results.

John ;)

Delta,

See http://www.lotuselancentral.com/cgi-bin ... 1099151472

You'd have to backcalculate the torque curve from the power info so it would be similarly noisy. The power values are 'at the wheels' but 80 is low.

When you get 0.8bar what is the 'wastegate duty cycle'? If its hitting 80% then you've got exhaust backpressure issues. If not I might have written a Kili by mistake... I'll send another chip if that looks likely.

Alan.
erhm..... not sure what it means, but boost go's strait up to 0.80 bar and then falls off to 0.75 as speed increase. Seems likely that the turbo cannot sustaine the high boost when more flow is demanded. Is that a backpressure problem. ???

Wastegate duty cycle stay at 0.80.

Can send you the data in an E-mail, if this helps.
Delta

A BSV duty of 80% will give the maximum boost obtainable with your current system. To get 0.9 bar you'll have to either remove one of the cats or install a larger bore exhaust :-/

Please send the data and I'll have a look.

Hi Alan,

I ordered a Kilimajaro through your website the other day and paid via paypal, but I guess my email couldn't have got through. Can you confirm the order - paypal reference number 3V299470SM955172T? I'm also after the connector to link up to the ECU, do you have any or still out of stock?

Many thanks,

Stuart Humphrey
Tel. 07813091305
email: watchoutwatchout@hotmail.com

I have the order, your timing just isn't of the best because I've been on my travels recently - I'm in the US at the moment. I'm back home on Friday and I'll assemble all outstanding orders for chips over the weekend and post them on Monday.

Sorry about the delay :-/

Yes Alan,

Come on over and I will treat you to some Texas BBQ! Car is running great (but only with the chip AND the MBC)

I finally got a hold of an engine management guide so I can do some trouble shooting, I had to get it from Sports Car World in Waco, TX since the promised CD never showed up. I plan to go through the manual page-by-page to make sure all sensors are working correctly and I will make sure that the engine is in perfect working condition, then I will remove the MBC and give things another go to see if anything changes. Right now I am very happy with the performance even though I understand the chip should be used on its own and not with the MBC. It would still be nice to know why the chip is not performing as designed with my system. It might be helpful for others if we can find out what is going on with my system.

I think when Alan gets home he will send me some new code; I will then burn you one or 2 chips and beam then over to you. If you are lucky then the new chip will cure the problem ???

Just got a load of adapters and chips! I'm back in business.

The import charges are bit steep £10 import duty, £53 VAT and a £14 pound 'clearance fee' from the carrier
