Orange door lock clips

These are available as Vauxhall/GM part number V0090286850, known as "Clamping Piece, Knob".

just ordered from vauxhall dealer,includes two dark grey lock knobs & orange clips .part no v0090252695 £6.77 inc vat. one fitted after having door card off.Identical to old one ,without the marks from years of clip removal.

No, the white "butterfly" clips are used to attach the door glass to the electric window mechanism. The orange clips in question are in the picture on this page.

That part number now gives you a single button and orange clip, for the grand price of £3.72. I bought one from my local Vauxhall Main Dealer today. It can be fitted with the door card in place.

There are some pages from the old pre-meltdown LEC site still hanging about in the ether. They can still be handy at times as not all the knowledge has been transferred to the "Repairs" or "Upgrades" sections or to Geoff's WikiLEC.

My helpful vauxhall dealer would sell me any quantity (I bought 10). Mind you they worked out at roughly 80p each

Went to pick up the 50 orange clips, and also two of the knobs they fit into. The knobs actually came with the orange clips within them, therefore no need to purchase 50 clips.

Part number for two knobs and two orange clips is 2 # 90252695

I've got to reset my passenger side door glass & will need to remove the door trim panel so I'll probably need a new Orange clip as they often break on removal.(If you haven't a new one they always break, if you have a new one it's probably 50/50. It's that Sod's Law thing.)

I've got several in my garage, somewhere, as Pat Thomas (Kelvedon Motors) put a handful in a jiffy bag when I last bought some - postage was £1.50 and they were 50p each so he sent me several, but that was years ago which is why I can't find them.

Today I bought a new clip from Stratton Motor Co (Lotus Dealer) in Long Stratton, Norfolk as I was passing. Lotus part LA100B6151H cost 70p + VAT = 83p each and Stratton keep them on the shelf.

Seems the Lotus price for one is not much different to Vauxhall's so I wouldn't waste too much time, or petrol, chasing after the Vauxhall part to save a few pence. I ran a Frontera as my 'workhorse' and my daughter had a Corsa and I found most Vauxhall parts had to be ordered and picked up 3 day's later after they've been shipped from Belgium or Germany by Adam Opel.

You can solve the problem of them breaking by drilling a small hole in the middle.

On the occasion of removing it just put a screw in the hole and pull it off.

Taking it one step further if you thread the hole to suit the screw, as you tighten the screw it will push the clip off.
