I've been press-ganged into a spot of decorating so it's still only half built I'm afraid and I still haven't put together the build instructions. I'll see what I can get done over the weekend.

It's almost ready - I had forgotten to reverse the order of the pins (because it's male) so I've had to mount the plug upside down and adapt the connections to the pcb! A couple of questions before I finish however:-

1. How long do you want the lead from the unit to the ALDL plug?
2. Do you need the retaining screws? The reason I ask is that one of them hasn't had a thread cut! :evil:

I can get a replacement from Farnell but it will hold things up.

best make it standard length, as for the moment it will have to sit on the seat.

I can't lay my hands on any ribbon cable to make up a test lead at the minute. I'll try and get it done tomorrow and post it to you on Tuesday.

As long as you tell us what you're up to, I'll let you off the development cost, so it will be a standard £15 + £1.77 P&P.

I wasn't thinking straight last night.

Thinking about your sex change business, the female should have screws but the male should have captive nuts if you get my drift. Consequently, I've put some nuts on and you shouldn't need the screws, unthreaded or otherwise (but I'll stick them in anyway).

Off to the garage to test your sex change with the short bender I've just knocked up.

Posted late Wednesday so you should have it by now.

I put in a 3 way pcb terminal block for your DIY interface as well. All you need now are some build instructions I guess!

Dean,

I hope to get back to the USB development in the next couple of days. I have a working prototype which I am in the middle of refining to ensure it works for everyone under all conditions but decorating duties have halted that temporarily. As you are having problems, I've put you top of the list so you should get one as soon as I have completed development.

It wasn't my intention to sneak up the list... but thanks. Driving back home from the shop (427 miles) the CEL came on repeatedly between 37 and 81 miles then didn't show itself again untill about 300 miles. The distance to good mechanic is is one of the reasons it can be challageing to drive an M100 in the USA.
