Roof Stowage Area

Postby RayD » Tue 09.01.2007, 14:17

What’s the procedure for working in the roof stowage area? The cover seems to have a tendency to fall down and I’m not sure if there is a position where the roof would stay half way up with out being held or propped.

Thank you,

Ray

Hood storage area

Postby woody » Tue 09.01.2007, 14:25

Hi,
Most people use a short length of 2" x 1" timber to jam between the hood & hood storage cover( placed in vertical position) to enable them to work inside the storage area.
Cheers,
Woody

Actually the best thing to do is to wedge the battery cover between the top of the roof stowage cover and the rear edge of the roof.

Is that why you're called Woody, because you carry unnecessary bits of timber with you everywhere?
Striking fear into the hearts of duplicate posts everywhere...! :P

then wear your neck protector for when the stowage lid slams down on you like a guillotine when you knock loose the device holding it up . . .

And there was me thinking how clever I was to use the battery cover.......

......then i saw the picture from dan and realised that by jaming it where i had been doing (lower down) i was loosing space and making life difficult for myself

When all along, there was this better method....

.....ah well, we're all still learning... :(

And so much 'lighter' than a pair of hatchback gas struts!

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

This comes in handy on occasions... stretches between the boot spoiler and stowage lid lock staple, if thats the right term :?
