Almost looks like the guy got a flat. After the MX-5 caught him the 2nd time, his back end seemed really loose. Either that or he started driving way above his head to stay in front of the Mazda!

On another forum they were saying the suspension had failed, toe link or something. But it looks like he was loosing it a couple of corners back and he should of slowed  but obvious he didn`t want Jonny benk to over take him

That's excellent!

Did you see the link to the Concorde one?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejZgJqEy2yE&NR

I'm just glad they both got down ok. Unlike this enormous B52 with a 23ft wingspan and 8 engines which went down at the BMFA Nationals held at RAF Barkstone Heath last year.
I was there when it happened.
Apparently it inherited the exact same flight characteristics of the original, and the fuel incinerated 25m square in a pig farm next door to the airfield! Smoky bacon anyone?

IIRC (and I probably don't) wasn't that made by Rod?

Didn't he sell his car to Neil? Or am I mixed up here?

Yes, yes and no.

Very familiar with the bloke, the car, and also the road!

Oh, and Rod knows EXACTLY how infectious that damn song is!

Brian,

See that before, but to me the speed rating on the camera seems to be way out  and the M100 driver didn`t seem to be doing anything wrong

IMHO the 'lunatic' boy-racer doing 60mph in a 40 limit deserves everything he gets!

(even though its a 2-lane dual cariageway, with no other motorists being inconvenienced, and no pedestrians anywhere near the road itself, car under control at all times, and driver slowing down for all potential hazards!).

I don't know, back in the early '90's, why weren't they out there catching murderers and rapists, instead of picking on innocent motorists?

(if you REALLY want to know, then I've got a big collection of photographs which might help to change your mind as to how 'inocent' some motorists can be, but that's a different story!)

The date on the screen shows December '93, and the PolicePilot camera / speed enforcer only got introduced in the UK a couple of months earlier - it made life easier as not many people bother to contest it if you can show them a video. (In my defence, I wouldn't have issued a ticket for this one, just a 'word of advice').
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

compared to the other cars on the road it didn`t look like the M100 was going that fast and thats why i was questioning the accuracy of the speed on the camera. :?

If you listen to the audio, it's a known car/driver, that's why they target it, nobody said it was because the car was going any faster then the rest of the traffic.

The reason they pulled him over was for doing 60 in a 40, the reason they were following him and not too bothered about anyone else is because the car and driver were known, listen to the audio, it's one of the first things said when they spot the Elan.

Besides, they needed something to do to fill the time before hitting the greasy spoon.
