Black s.e. re-shell and chassis

Postby jimbob » Mon 19.02.2007, 19:16

Ive had a lot of enjoyment looking at your projects on here, so Ive decided to put my own one on. No doubt I will be at it for months but Im going to try to put as many photos on here as possible. As the title suggests its getting a new shell, chassis, front bumper, front top shell, N/S A panel and various other bits including mechanical parts.
Things will no doubt get off to a slow start because Im still building the garage the car is in, but once thats completed will be posting photos more frequently.

More pics tomorrow

Agreed Stevie - it looks fantastic. But I think this may answer your question.

Jim, where are you getting your chassis and bodyshell from?
Have you been in touch with DaveTEA?

N/S damage pics enclosed, first one 3/4 of an inch missing off n/s/f of sill, not enough to justify re shell ? See next photo

N/S/F wheel pushed back with so much force it has forced chassis back against bulkhead, cracked floor and caused structural damage to a-pillar and sill steel framework, re-shell justifyed!!

How bent chassis is at this moment im unsure, but i do know it doesn't line up with bulkhead correctly and n/s/f wheel is back 16 mm after replacing most of suspension.

I have to add although I caused the suspension damage last year when I met a car on a single track road and had to go off road to avoid him, the structural damage was previous accident damage when a previous owner hit a six inch concrete block lying on the road OUCH!!
