Lotus Elan Coupé

Then this arrived in the showroom (I was planning on buying one until I saw the interior):

I was planning on buying a Lotus Europa S Last year but didn't like the interior and the problems of my girlfriend getting in and out. So I decided to buy another Elan and build a Coupe' top for it based on the Esprit, that didn't look right as it was so angular and then I looked at the Elise back as the shape was more in keeping with the curvy look of the Elan.
The Europa S arrived at my local dealer and I noticed the back hatch/door was actually shorter than it looked in the photos so I asked the dealer (whom I went to school with) and we measured the back hatch, it's quite a bit narrower than the elan boot but it was what I was looking for.
My surfboard will fit in the car really easily with one of these!

The hatch door costs about £550 + glass and I'm considering it.

WOW! The Esprittouch looks Superb drawing!


For the idea with the Eliserearclam... Don´t forget that the Elise has a roll bar where it is mounted on. Further on the bonnet and with this the entry to the trunk is not suitable... At last, the idea with the rearspoiler will be closed forever...

If you want anything in this line what about a M250-back? It serves and saves the tradition with the M-class and with the spoiler
