Steve, if u`ve got fed up of doing this group buy don`t be getting stressed u`ve got to look after number one and more important is to get u`r own exhaust sorted out. Let us know how the fitting goes.

I`ve manage to get some contacts of places a bit closer to home, actually one of the places supply lotus with Exhaust ;D it`s just getting the time to take pinky round to get a quote.

cheers
Jay

Too be honest lads not sure what i'm doing, i dont want to spend this much if theres another option but there are no real quotes on the table just observations and theorys. I am going to discuss doing mine as a cash deal one off and then if there are further purchases when prices are solid then come to some kind of arrangement with him.

Monty whats the deal with them then ?

Nickb i'm right by the Dartford crossing near purfleet, where are you then ?

Someone of another forum has given me a couple of contacts, going to give one of them a call tomo`s and maybe take pinky for a drive and get a quote, but i don`t know if they`ll do the pre-cat replacement :-/. The reason i might go down this route is that it would be fitted and save my hands getting dirty. ;D

I`ll be back with an update
Jay

Well it`s only good news for me and Dico.

Went and got a quote from BlueFlame which also do exhaust for Lotus and less than an hour away.
For a full system with the pre-cat replaced is £425 inc VAT and fitted. Life time garantee ;D (could be more if they have trouble removing bolts). I did ask if they could do us a group batch and they said it would have to be an order for more than 15 :o they prefer to fit direst to the car. So this is good news for NW. So i`m thinking of getting this done at the end of the month ;D

Sorry steve, i know this doesn`t help u out, but like to say thanks for u`r efforts and sorry for us wasting u`r time, only for this thread did i get of my ass to do some searching, cause i wasn`t going to do the exhaust till later in the year. :-/ hope all goes well with u`r exhaust.

Jay

Nickb so your very local then :) i've seen a couple, there's a red and a yellow se i see about and there was a nice s2 on Chafford until recently.

Monty is that for exactly the same spec ? as in 2.5" mandral bent 304 grade stainless ? I've done some digging and they seem quite highly regarded too. When are you gonna get it done ? feel a trip "up north" approaching ;D
Monty

Also interested in one of these exhausts - is there anybody to speak to specifically that would understand what I want?

As a technical numpty, I will no doubt confuse myself and them and end up with something unsuitable without some very specific guidelines ;D

Humph

I spoke to a bloke called Ian in the custom exhaust department, he won`t know me by name but once u tell him it`s an lotus elan SE he should know what u`r on about. I`m hoping to get my done at the end of the month depending on how the other upgrades get finished. If u can wait till then, i`ll let u know how good they are. ;D

Well i've thought about this a lot and i decided to do the work in stages. I went for a differant quote today for my "stage 1" but was so impressed with the prices going to have it all done :)
I've decided to go 2.25" as i have a real fear of creep and that extra .25" isn't going to make much bhp differance anyway.
So i've been quoted for a precat eliminator, all 2.25" pipework with no squishes, a racing high flow cat ( stainless steel not ceramic ! ), quietish backbox and a choice of tips, all guanteed for life including the cat for £520 inc vat and fitting ! or no cat version £295 ! Oh and it's only 15 miles up the road too near Basildon in Essex.
It's booked in for thursday so hopefully pics and thoughts will follow.

Well the back-box fell off on the road and the rest of the exhaust is in a poor condition so the car is booked in to Blueflame next Tuesday. One of my mates has been and was impressed and i need the car pretty soon, feedback (good i hope) next week!. :-/ Holty.
Around the £400.00 mark was talked about but i guess that will change ( just not a lot i hope). I am just not sure what size diameter to go for 2.25 or 2.50? i do'nt want to over boost even though i have one of alans everest chips (very good) so i might go with 2.25. Any info from someone would be great. [smiley=light_bulb.gif] I will try to get some work in progress pictures but the day i drop the car off i'm also going to the Trafford cenre with the wife [smiley=shake_finger.gif] Cheers Holty.
