Hope some one can help me,after charging battery and refitting car wont start engine light on and no codes present however there is no priming sound wen ignition is turned on I presume this is the fuel pump priming.Where can I find relevant fuses or relay.Thanks in advance..matty

if you removed the battery for charging check the inertia switch by the battery, its a small black button which activates if involved in a accident.
i know from experience that you can inadvertanly pull the switch up & experience the problems you have when removing the battery.

Lift it and press it a few times. Mine sometimes does the same thing, and giving the contacts a bit of exercise can do the trick.

Also turn your ignition to the "prime" position a few times (waiting for a few seconds between each attempt) so that you get dashboard lights.
You only need to hear that familiar whine once and then it will start.

It could also be an immoboliser problem if you have an alarm fitted?

I've had that happen before........

Thats a good piont it has an imobiliser that flashes....normally cant get the engine to turn unless I have used my key fob , at the moment it will let me turn the car over but only when I have used the fob so I presume the imobiliser side is working as it should.I am going to have a good methodical look later on...I was hoping there was a fuse that had blown due to trying to start the car with a low battery...I will make it to Donington i will i will..

If you've replaced the battery and you can't hear the fuel pipe start when you turn the ignition on you could have knocked the relay that controls the fuel pump.

It's located to the front of the battery, and it's something that I've had problems with previously.

Worth checking as it won't cost a thing.

Ok its running again thanks for all the advice.
I wish I could tell you what I did to fix it but as usual I just ploughed in and messed with the alarm the inrtia swithch the relay and some dodgy looking earths on the plenum and it started......Great site thanks again for your help see you at Donington hopefully Matty....
