With immediate effect, there's only on f in Geof Smith takes over as holder of the LEC funds and guardian of the purse strings.

Thanks for being the only one to volunteer Geoff!

LEC Treasurer institutes
innovative new funding drive

Image
Penny for the Geoff, 'guv ?

Earlier today, a private members' ballot voted 1 to 0 to
install bean counter extraordinaire there's only on f in Geof Smith as head
of the LEC Treasury. As predicted by the pundits, sweeping
changes have already begun to be put in place. When
asked for details on how his department plans to rectify
the current state of affairs, Mr Smith was quoted as
saying "can you spare 70p, mate ?"

In spite of this apparently progressive attitude towards
the reformation of the budget, it's widely expected that
we'll see increases of up to 50p in the pound on LEC mugs,
an introduction of a new sticker tax, dubbed "stick-up tax"
by some, and a controversial plan to heavily fine
perpetrators of thread hijacking and user-impersonation,
although when pressed on this issue, Mr Smith was quoted
as saying that "we recognise that this policy will be hard to
police". Shortly thereafter a statement inexplicably attributed
to Doug but sounding very much like the venerable Mr Smith
was issued, saying "and you'll have to catch me first !"

:P

Congrats Geoff :)

Thanks to Algirdas for converting the 2USD to good old British Pounds and the latest couple of mugs (Dave and SurferPhil), I am pleased to announce that the kitty is in credit and we are now in a position to pay PaulW for the rest of the mugs. :P

Geoff

PS It's not a lot of credit, so don't go making any extravagant plans just yet!

Excellent - it's all pure profit from here on! :-D
I'm so glad that we've sorted out Paul within 2 months too. Great job Geoff, and thanks to everyone for their contributions.
