Not the best picture but I like it  ;D.  27 Nov 1995, the day I collected the car from Hethel, pictures inside the factory were not allowed but a picture outside the main gate was, this is it.  Took so long to get it registered etc that it was dark.  Mind you I got a factory tour and saw the Elan production line (not in use as the last S2s had been completed in August 1995) before it was shippd to Korea and the factory collection of cars, since sold off, a good day and we were made most welcome.<br><br>

Hi there<br><br>New to this forum. (Only found it last night) We've had an Elan for nearly 9 years now, and just got it back last week after it was off the road for 2 years. Its as good as the day we got it, and I'm in love all over again <br><br>This is my favourite picture:<br><br><br><br>This is taken on the Col d'Iseran which, for those that don't know it, is the road from Val d'Isere (a ski resort in the French Alps) that runs up and over into Italy. It used to be the highest road in Europe (the top is about 9,000 feet) and is only open from July-October. This was taken a few years back (before kids) when we drove that road on the way from the UK to (eventually) Lake Garda in Italy.<br><br>Cheers<br><br>Rob

Nige<br><br>Thanks. To be honest I'm staggered by both the quantity, and quality of stuff in here. Its gratifying to know that there is such a wealth of Elan expertise out there, because to be honest I wasn't 100% sure that in getting my car back on the road I'd made the right decision. 2 things have helped to ease my mind:<br><br>1. The fact that there's so many petrolheads in here with pretty much the same view as ours.<br><br>2. That when I go for a drive it feels like the speedo has been recalibrated. I'd forgotten how fast it is. (and given that I also ride a VFR 800 I'm used to quick)<br><br>The car is running better than ever. It feels great, and its turning heads again.
